Resident Evil Village is out and more and more reviews are landing. For the most part it is getting high marks for staying true to the franchise and for its very clear similarities to a fan favorite, Resident Evil 4. When judged against the backdrop of wanting to maintain what amounts to a 16 year old format, it’s hard not to give the game high marks from beginning to end. For anyone new to the franchise, however, it might not make sense why certain design decisions were made for the most action intense moments. At its core, this is a Resident Evil game, with puzzles, strong voice acting, pristine graphics and art style, and for me, the best aspect… a strong story with great ties to Resident Evil 7. This review will contain story spoilers as that is one of the parts of the game I was most pleased with.
